Four million down, about 596 million to go.
The World Bank’s International Finance Corporation just announced that, in Africa, four million homes now use solar lights instead of traditional fuels for night-time illumination. There’s still a long way to go to get everyone switched over, but the figure represents 115 percent growth during the past three years. This is good news.
Also, Lighting Africa will release is best (solar) product awards in November at the International Off-Grid Lighting Conference in Senegal.
